<p>This evening saw the first episode of the Irish version of Dragons Den on <a href="http://www.rte.ie/tv/dragonsden/">RTE</a>. Like the Irish rugby games against <a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/2009/02/ireland-vs-france-rugby-match-twitter-analysis/">France</a> and <a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/2009/02/italy-vs-ireland-rugby-match-twitter-analysis/">Italy</a> I&#8217;ve again created a play-by-play analysis of the reaction to the show live as people tweeted on twitter using the hashtag <strong>#ddire</strong>. People using twitter all used that hash tag to mark their comments and opinions and here&#8217;s how each segment of the show came across as a twoud (twitter cloud).</p>
<p>Click on the individual twoud images to see the larger versions.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Before the show<br />
</strong></p>
<p>General chatter about the build up to the show in the days leading up</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire01.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-180" title="ddire01" src="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire01.jpg" alt="ddire01" width="500" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>cleancash.com</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The Dragons weren&#8217;t very keen on this idea and twitter reflected that straight away</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire02.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-180" title="ddire02" src="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire02.jpg" alt="ddire02" width="500" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Booze Berries</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">A good product and idea but a nervous pitch</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire03.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-180" title="ddire03" src="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire03.jpg" alt="ddire03" width="500" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Aqua Images</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Something fishy about this one that confused people</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire04.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-180" title="ddire04" src="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire04.jpg" alt="ddire04" width="500" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Miscellaneous pitches<br />
</strong></p>
<p>Cork Life and MumsTown.ie were not a hit</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire05.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-180" title="ddire05" src="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire05.jpg" alt="ddire05" width="500" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>PedigreeCattle.ie</strong></p>
<p>Good pitch by the farmers which drew a lot of cow puns&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8220;MooSpace&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Cowzone.ie&#8221;</p>
<p>Steaks were raised and the guys came away with the first investment of the series</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire06.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-180" title="ddire06" src="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire06.jpg" alt="ddire06" width="500" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Post-show</strong></p>
<p>The chat continues..</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire07.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-180" title="ddire07" src="http://patrickphelan.ie/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ddire07.jpg" alt="ddire07" width="500" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Stay tuned for the next twoud real soon&#8230;</p>

Gizmodo have a great post today on the best an worst twitter apps for the iPhone.
I&#8217;ve yet to buy any paid apps from the iTunes store &#8211; to be honest every free app I have does the job &#8211; but I still am willing to pay for one if it really suits my purpose.

<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://gizmodo.com">Gizmodo </a>have a great <a href="http://short.ie/z63nfp">post </a>today on the best an worst twitter apps for the iPhone.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I&#8217;ve yet to buy any paid apps from the iTunes store &#8211; to be honest every free app I have does the job &#8211; but I still am willing to pay for one if it really suits my purpose.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Essentially, Gizmodo&#8217;s final conclusion is:</p>
<blockquote style="text-align: left;"><p><strong>The Quicklist</strong><br />
• Best Overall: Tweetie<br />
• Best Paid: Tweetie<br />
• Best Free: Twitterfon<br />
• Most Powerful: Twittelator Pro<br />
• Best Tweet-Only: Tweeter<br />
• Worst <span class="tagautolink autolink">Twitter</span> App Ever in the History of Twitter Ever: Tweetion<br />
• Creepiest: Twittervision</p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: left;">I&#8217;ve used 3 of the apps on their list &#8211; <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=286756410&amp;mt=8">Twitterfon</a>, <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284540316&amp;mt=8">Twitterific</a> and <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284967867&amp;mt=8">Twinkle</a> &#8211; and I have to say that Twitterfon is the best of the 3 by a mile. The cons mentioned are that it doesn&#8217;t support multiple accounts (I only have one) and the font is too small (move iPhone closer to your face! That means more content fits on the screen). It&#8217;s a fantastic app!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2009/01/twitterfon_01.jpg"><img class="aligncenter" title="twitterfon" src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2009/01/twitterfon_01.jpg" alt="" width="419" height="209" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I actually find it more useful to read my tweets on the iPhone with it even when I&#8217;ve a computer right in front of me. Although with the fiddly iPhone keyboard I revert to the PC for tweeting a bit. I do use TweetDeck at home but not at work and that is the God of desktop twitter clients for me so the phone is left in the pocket there.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Twitterific lacked some features Twitterfon offers like search, view the current conversation and making it easy to select multiple people to reply to. As for Twinkle, the look of it just annoys me. Looks like it was made in the TellyTubbies factory. I&#8217;m not overally bothered checking for people geographically near me too.</p>
